2024 AGM Summary

Date: 25 March 2024

This month, we hosted our 25th Annual General Meeting.

On Saturday 23rd March, we had the opportunity via Zoom to have a roundup of the previous financial year at GMBCU. We covered topics including the GMBCU Prize Draw, business plans and reports from the Board of Directors, Auditors, the Treasurer and more.

We’d like to give a massive thank you to all of those who joined us and pre-submitted their questions. For those who were unable to join us on the day, we have a handy summary of the key takeaways and some further reading for you below.

Annual Dividend

The biggest question on members’ minds at this time of year is the annual dividend. At our AGM, the following tiered rate was agreed upon:

Corporate Savers – 1.00%

Member Saver – 3.50%

Junior Saver (now Young Saver) – 4.00%

Christmas Saver – 4.00%

This dividend rate will be paid to eligible GMBCU member savings accounts on the 8th April 2024.

The dividend is calculated on the average daily balance of savings in a members’ saving account from 1st January to 31st December 2023.

Q&A with the Treasurer

Thank you to those who submitted questions for our AGM, below is a video covering the Q&A section of the meeting.

David Castledine accompanied us for this session, with topics being covered such as a look back at 2023, cost-of-living crisis impact as well as looking forward to the future and new products being introduced to the members.

Annual Report

The Annual Report for year ending 31st December is published here in the interest of transparency.

Expect to see the Treasurer statement, an overview of the operating environment, the auditor’s report, member benefits, and facts and figures relating to the Credit Union’s performance.

It’s a one-stop shop to review our performance and what’s to come. Simple!
